About this position

 

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate within a team of engineers focused on automation and configuration as code for foundational architecture, particularly in facilitating connectivity across multiple Cloud Service Providers. This role demands a robust background in infrastructure and Public Cloud technologies. As a member of the global team, the engineer will spearhead the task of integrating complex, multi-tier applications from on-premises environments to the Public Cloud. Close collaboration with Product Management and Vendors is pivotal for the development and deployment of Cloud services, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a team of engineers to automate and configure foundational architecture for connectivity across multiple Cloud Service Providers.
  • Integrate complex, multi-tier applications from on-premises environments to the Public Cloud.
  • Liaise closely with Product Management and Vendors to develop and deploy Cloud services that align with customer expectations.
  • Lead the development of tooling and self-service capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop junior programmers, including participating in constructive code reviews.
  • Set up new development projects using modern tools and practices such as git, Jenkins, test-driven development, and continuous integration in Linux-based environments.
  • Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to optimize the developer experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the major cloud service providers, preferably Azure, but also including AWS.
  • Support the Financial Analyst in quarterly budget confirmations and year-end budget controls for the current fiscal year.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

 

Skills/Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with Azure and/or AWS.
  • Experience working in teams following agile practices like scrum or kanban.
  • Proficiency with standard Linux command line and debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, especially for managing and configuring compute and storage infrastructure.
  • Ability to write comprehensive unit tests, including mocking external utilities and APIs.
